Thumbprint cookies are a perfect treat for the holidays! You can use your favorite flavor of jam or preserves.

Ingredients:

1 pound of butter

1 cup of sugar

6 hard-boiled egg yolks

5 ½  cups of cake flour

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the sugar. Continue to mix at high speed until there are no sugar granules visible.

Add shredded egg yolks.

Add the flour and vanilla.

Mix thoroughly.

Roll the dough into one-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.

Then, press your thumb into the center of each ball and fill the depression with jam or preserves.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
