Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle, NC is proud to announce that their executive director, Kylie Conklin, has been chosen as an outstanding healthcare leader in the state of North Carolina. She was selected as one of the members of the 2022 class of the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association (NCHCFA) Institute for LTC Leaders program. This professional training and mentorship program begins with a January kickoff, which is followed by a year full of programming that will enrich these outstanding healthcare leaders.

Conklin will be in good company with another one of Consulate’s executive directors, Nicholas Cruz, from Wellington Rehabilitation and Health Care. “As a new (younger) administrator who is planning for a long career, one of my goals is to be a strong leader,” said Conklin. She looks forward to learning from other healthcare executives who have years of experience in the  long-term setting. Conklin has been a part of the Consulate team since October 2019, when she was an Administrator-in-Training.

The leadership program will provide numerous opportunities for participants to interact and share their goals for their care centers. The leaders will challenge each other, ask questions and share success stories. Conklin is looking forward to the program and applying what she learns to successfully lead Forrest Oaks into the future.
