Not many people can say they have done the same job for almost 20 years. That type of dedication, passion, and enthusiasm is a rare find these days. Fortunately for Brentwood Retirement Community in Lecanto, FL that unique person exists. Danny Lambert is a one-of-a-kind individual who has dedicated his life to the residents of Brentwood for nearly two decades. Danny works with the dietary team and each day helps to set tables, wash silverware, wipe down chairs, and even clean windows. He is very determined to do his job well and with sincere dedication.

Danny’s job duties tend to extend beyond that of the dining room. On any given day, you can often find Danny opening doors for other employees, or getting drinks for the residents. He loves being a part of the action and also being able to help out in any other way that he is able to. He is filled with happiness and positivity and his endless smiling constantly lights up the care center. His outlook on life radiates to those around him, and his presence alone is something that has changed the lives of his fellow colleagues and the residents he cares for daily. When asked what motivates him to come to work each day, Danny responded, “The staff. The residents. Helping people.” His goal in life is to make others feel good, and that is evident in his persistent nature and determined work ethic.

Danny has stayed dedicated to his work because of someone he has worked with for a long time. Mary Alice, his executive director, has been working with him for 12 years. Together they have built a bond, and developed a relationship that has allowed them to keep each other motivated in one way or another. Mary Alice has taken Danny under her wing and her kindness has allowed Danny to thrive in his work. Danny seems to get along with just about anyone he meets and anyone that he works with, though. Another co-worker, Margie, Brentwood’s receptionist, loves to joke around with Danny and have a good time. Their sense of humor gets them through the day and it’s one of the reasons Danny comes back to work each day.

Danny is an all-around very unique individual. Not only does he devote his time to the residents, but he also finds time to be involved in community activities and stays active by competing in the special Olympics. He has competed in running, walking, softball, and even swimming. Last year he won first place in running and was awarded a ribbon! He is a truly hard-working and motivated person who is completely deserving of that award.

According to Mary Alice, Danny is “always on time, and always follows directions.” He is someone that everyone wants to be around and he is a true example of what hard work means. On the days that care center employees are able to “dress down” and wear their t-shirts to work, Danny is always the one in charge of choosing the color that everyone wears. His happiness is simply contagious at work, and he makes the environment fun and friendly for everyone. We asked Danny how he would like to be remembered at work and he said, “I love this job, and I don’t want it to change. I always want to be remembered for being happy here.”

Danny, thank you for choosing Consulate Health Care to share your contagious smile with. We are so proud your hard work, dedication, and your passion for your job. Thank you!
