Consulate Health Care of Orange Park in Orange Park, FL is lucky to have not one, but two amazing employees. Both Virginia Korth (Gina) and Robin Dake have taken the task of creating fun activities for their residents to another level, and it has not gone unnoticed.

Recently, they planned a very successful event, Lemonade Day! This was not just a social event for the residents, but it was also a fundraiser. They wanted to raise money for the activities department so that they could continue to plan unique events and buy additional supplies.  Residents were encouraged to wear yellow to the event to get free lemonade. They also sold several lemon-themed baked goods like Lemon Bundt Cake, and Lemon Parfaits, as well as jars of homemade Lemon Sugar Scrub. They were able to raise a lot of money and the residents had a wonderful time.

Typically, a Director of Activities puts events together that take place at our care centers.  Although Orange Park currently does not have someone to fill that role, they have not skipped a beat. They have been able to put on incredible events thanks to Gina and Robin. Both are Activities Assistants who work together to plan some amazing activities.

These types of events are now the norm for Orange Park. Robin and Gina come up with a themed event every month, if not once a week. They like to plan days like “Watermelon Day” or “Pickle Day”, but the events are not always food related. They once held an “Elvis Day”, and even a “Beach Day” where they set up a volleyball net in the cafeteria and served BBQ and drinks.

CHIRPs Consulate Health Care

Gina retired from corporate America in 2002 and decided to do something with her life that she truly enjoys. Since she really likes her work, she gives it her all when she plans something for the residents. It isn’t just a task for her, but a craft. She really likes coming up with new and fun ways to engage the residents and getting creative.

Robin was a Restorative Aid for a couple of years before the Activities Assistant position opened up. She jumped at the opportunity to be able to assist with the enjoyable activities that take place at the care center. She loves to have fun with the residents and to see their smiling faces during an event.

Although Robin and Gina are extremely talented, that is not why they are so good at what they do. They have compassion for the residents and take pleasure in seeing them cheerful. Being able to put a smile on someone’s face is what motivates them both to come to work and give their best effort.

When asked what both Robin and Gina like the most about working at Orange Park, they both said “Seeing the satisfaction on the residents’ faces. They don’t want you to leave at the end of the day, and it just makes you love walking up to the building in the morning”. The residents are like family to both of them.

It’s employees like Gina and Robin who really represent what Consulate Health Care is all about. They believe in our Core Values and provide service with not only their hands, but also their hearts. We are so proud to have these ladies as a part of our family and hope they stay with us for years to come.  Thank you for bettering the lives of our residents!
