With almost 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, Senece Midgett is the Executive Director at Consulate Health Care of Windsor. She came into the Consulate family as the divisional director of clinical services and had the opportunity to join the care center team as the administrator in 2020. Ever since Senece has provided not only the residents with quality services but also ensured that her staff is well taken care of.

Her integrity and compassion make her a great administrator and team member. Senece is a hands-on leader; she is always ready to help her staff on the floor. “Since I have been here, I have seen our Executive Director, Senece, wear nothing but scrubs to help assist us on the floor with patient care,” said Crystal Ogletree, Business Office Manager at Consulate Health Care of Windsor.

“I do this job because taking care of our residents every day is priceless.”

Her journey in long-term care started in 1992 as she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Senece then became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) a short time after, then decided to go back to school and got her Registered Nurse recognition. Throughout her journey, she has worked in many different healthcare settings and had a special admiration for long-term care workers, which led her to Consulate Health Care.

Senece’s passion for the long-term care field came from her parents, who raised her since she was a little girl. “I wanted to give back to the elderly population in the best way I can,” she explained. Her favorite part of working at the care center is talking to the residents, learning about them, and hearing the countless stories they have to tell. Senece genuinely enjoys coming to work and helping those around her.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought many challenges to those working in the healthcare field, including long-term care centers. Working had to provide the staff with the appropriate education and training while also being present to help along the way; Senece put into practice her leadership skills and proved to be a valuable member of the team. “The pandemic brought us all closer together; we took care of one another,” Senece explained.

With empathy and passion, Senece leads the care team at Consulate Health Care of Windsor every day. Putting her integrity at far front of her work, she has accomplished amazing things at the care center. The Consulate family admires her dedication and is thankful for her overwhelming dedication to our residents and staff. Thank you, Senece!
