As we approach the holiday season, we wanted to spotlight some of the amazing things that our care centers are doing throughout the country. Most recently, our care centers have been preparing some wonderful fall activities for their residents. From hayrides to pumpkin carving, there have been lots of festive things going on around Consulate Health Care.

We received several submissions from care centers about fall bake offs, dances, pumpkin carving contests, and even elaborate decor. These events are nothing short of amazing. Not only do our care centers strive to put on spectacular events, but they also want to make the residents happy. They have worked desperately hard to ensure that the residents still feel at home and keep their holiday traditions alive.

One care center in particular, Lakeside Oaks Care Center in Dunedin, FL goes above and beyond when it comes to the fall season. The care center creates an elaborate haunted trail every year for their residents and even local families to enjoy. It is filled with ornate and scary Halloween decor that makes it seem extremely realistic. The residents look forward to this event every year, and it has now become a staple amongst Lakeside Oaks and the local community.

Another very popular activity is pumpkin decorating. New Harmonie Health Care Center in New Harmony, IN was even featured in their local newspaper because of the pumpkin decorating contest that they held. The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and everyone really liked reliving their childhood memories of carving pumpkins with their families.

Summit Villa Care Center in Tallmadge, OH was very creative and held an Oktoberfest party. It was filled with authentic Oktoberfest music, drinks, and food. The residents really got into the spirit of the holiday and enjoyed singing and dancing to the sounds of the season. They even had a photo booth where residents were able to take photos in front of themed backdrops. It was such a great event.

"Residents enjoyed singing and dancing to the sounds of the season."

Sometimes it’s not even the actual events that mean the most. The maintenance director at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek in Arden, NC put together an amazing harvest display outside the entrance to the care center. When anyone approaches the building, the first thing they see is a festive display of pumpkins, flowers and even a scarecrow next to a corn stalk. What a lovely way to help the residents get into the fall spirit.

We are so proud of the many wonderful events that our care centers put on for our residents across the nation. The level of detail, heart and soul, and passion that goes into the work that our employees do is insurmountable. We greatly appreciate all of our employees and the amazing things they do for our residents. Keep up the great work Consulate family!
