The executive director of Wellington Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Knightdale, NC, received very good news last week. Nicholas Cruz learned that he had been selected to participate as a member of the 2022 class of the NCHCFA Institute for LTC Leaders program. The program, which is organized by the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association, selects a small group of  top long-term leaders for professional training and mentorship.

Nick is very excited to be part of the 2022 class. Through the program, he looks forward to “becoming a better leader in long-term care by learning from experienced peers who share their past experiences and challenges.” The program begins in January 2021, and includes a year full of opportunities for the healthcare executives to develop professionally and network through symposiums, quarterly meetings, and even attendance in the NCHCFA legislative conference.

Nick has a wealth of experience working in rehabilitation and long-term care. He started his career as a physical therapist, and served as the rehabilitation director in an independent living center.  He has worked in care centers for many years before becoming a licensed nursing home administrator and executive director. In his free time, Nick enjoys the rich outdoors of North Carolina, both in the mountains and at the beach.
