November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and Consulate Health Care cares greatly about this cause. Not only do many of our residents suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, but also the severity and seriousness of this disease is something that we sincerely hope to find a cure for one day. Each day of the year, our company and our employees do what we can to provide compassionate care to the residents who have this disease. But, during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, our care centers passionately try to be as involved as they can in this cause.

One particular care center, Consulate Health Care of Lakeland in Lakeland, FL hosted a large charity event to raise funds that would go to the Alzheimer’s Awareness Foundation. The event was a community car wash and yard sale combination. Household items were donated to sell and several volunteers came out to wash cars, all to help raise money. Additionally, the care center staff participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. One employee even created purple tie-dye T-shirts for the walkers and supporters to wear during the walk. We are so proud of the support and engagement that this team contributed.

Another one of our care centers, Envoy of Winchester in Winchester, VA also held a charity event at their care center. The event was a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Several employees donated baked goods to sell at the event. Residents even participated in the fundraiser by making bracelets that were also sold in order to raise funds. In total, the care center was able to raise over $500 for the fight to end Alzheimer’s. But, their efforts did not stop there – some of the staff members even participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Envoy of Winchester was a proud sponsor of the event. We can’t thank this team enough for what they did.

The true compassion for this cause was felt throughout our many Consulate Health Care centers this month. Although we have featured only a couple of them, several of our care centers throughout the country held events, participated in events, and made donations towards this cause. The love, empathy, and humanity shown by our team members is more than we could ask for. We are overjoyed by the willingness to help that our employees have shown, and we thank everyone for all that they did to raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness. Great job team!
