Brenda Golladay is one of the many exceptional individuals we are honored to have in our Consulate family. She has been working at Consulate Health Care of Woodstock for over 20 years, since its opening. Now, serving as a Medical Record Coordinator, Brenda says the care center has become her second home.

“What motivates me to come to work each day are the residents. They become a part of my family.”

The people that work alongside Brenda recognize her for always going above and beyond to help the residents and her colleagues. Although she exemplifies all our core values, her compassion is what makes her stand out. “It is essential to show compassion each and every day when you are doing this kind of work,” she says. Brenda’s commitment to the center and her residents does not go unnoticed.

Since she was 17 years old, Brenda has been working in long-term care. Her love for the profession becomes clear when she talks about her residents. “What motivates me to come to work each day are the residents. They become a part of my family,” Brenda says. She met many wonderful and unique people throughout her years at Consulate, but one gentleman stands out to her. A World War 2, Purple Heart recipient, who came to her office for a cup of coffee and a cookie every day.

On her personal time, Brenda enjoys working on DIY projects for her home. She also loves spending time with her grandsons. Brenda and her sister love to spend their free time painting, and are currently working on Disney couples’ portraits for Valentine’s Day. You can find many of their paintings around the care center.

Since her youth, Brenda has always been a giving person and, luckily, found the perfect profession to exercise her passion for caring. Now, seeing her retirement in the near future, she gives other younger professionals the advice to “be patient and willing to come to work with a positive attitude every day.” Some days are a bit more challenging than others, but knowing she made a difference in someone’s life is what matters in the end.
