National Assisted Living week is September 10-16, 2017. This week is a chance for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers and the community to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors.

Each year, the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) comes up with a theme for the week. This year’s theme is “Family is Forever.” The theme was inspired by a quote from Maya Angelou:

“Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

This year’s theme highlights the unique family-like bonds formed between staff and residents at assisted living care centers. Consulate Health Care would like to recognize and thank our care center staff who treat their residents and co-workers as family each day.
