Ivy Newton, Medicaid specialist for Consulate Health Care, shares her simply delightful recipe for Kondensmelk koekies!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 stick unsalted butter

1 can condensed milk

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Grease and flour a large cookie sheet.

In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar together, then add vanilla and condensed milk to mix.

In a large bowl, mix in flour, baking powder and salt.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and  mix well.

Roll the dough into balls and flatten with a fork.

You can also use molds with the dough.

Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Makes three dozen large cookies or five dozen small cookies.
