Carolyn Holbrook has been part of the Consulate Health Care of North Fort Myers for almost nine years. A retired Registered Nurse with decades of experience in the healthcare field, Carolyn decided to go back to work and started at the care center as a part-time receptionist. Passionate for helping people and providing compassionate care, she returned to the healthcare field to continue providing help for those in need.
Working in the medical field has been Carolyn’s interest since she was 11 years old. During her previous years in healthcare, she worked in public health in Naples, FL, and Syracuse, NY. She had many different roles in the industry, such as a registered nurse, assistant director of nursing, immunization health coordinator and others. The team at Consulate Health Care of North Fort Myers values her experiences and looks up to her as an incredible example.

“When I was younger, I didn’t want to work in long-term care; I always thought about pediatrics,” she told us. “However, I can now relate to the elderlies as I am part of the geriatric population,” she explained. At the care center, she truly enjoys meeting, talking to, and learning about the residents. As the receptionist, she adores meeting the families and learning their stories and where the residents come from.
Carolyn’s vocation is to care for people; she loves what she does. She says she doesn’t feel like coming to work is a chore. “I work with some good people that have been with me through difficult points in my life and have been super supportive,” she explained. Carolyn always goes above and beyond to help other departments, such as Medical Records, Admissions, and Nursing, with her extensive knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
In her personal life, Carolyn has raised five children, one of which has become a Registered Nurse working at a hospital in Florida. She also has eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She loves to spend her free time reading, gardening, and enjoying her family.
Carolyn’s heart is full of compassion and, in each of her everyday decisions, she incorporates her passion and honesty. Consulate Health Care is honored to have someone as dedicated and kind as her in our family. Thank you for providing services with your hearts and hands every day, Carolyn!
