Brittany Hunter is the Assistant Director of Nursing at Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, VA. Since 2018, she has been part of the Consulate family and leads her staff with integrity and respect. She is passionate about her job and being able to care for her residents and put a smile on their faces, even on bad days.

“Brittany has a heart of gold,” said Alicia Carter, Brittany’s coworker at the care center. “She takes the time to listen to the staff and residents.” Her compassion for those around her is evident in each action she takes throughout the day. Brittany values the environment created at the care center where staff feels like family and work together to take care of each of the residents with empathy and respect. 

Her journey in healthcare started many years ago as a Monitor Tech in a local hospital. A couple of years after graduating from nursing school, she started working at Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, her first opportunity at a long-term care center. After years of experience, Brittany is now in school to become a mental health LPN. A passionate nurse, she is working hard to continue learning to guarantee her work is of the highest quality.

“It is all worth it when you know you are here for the residents.”

“There are bad days and good days when you are a nurse, but it is worth it when you know you are here for the residents,” explained Brittany. As an Assistant Director of Nursing, Brittany works with the staff and leadership at the care center to ensure residents receive quality care and are healthy and well. Her coworkers admire her willingness to go above and beyond for everyone she services and works with.
