From Baker to Passionate Caregiver: Donna’s Realization Came in the Most Unexpected of Ways

Donna_Turner_cropped“Care for one, that’s love. Care for hundreds, that’s nursing.” It’s a saying that summarizes the epiphany Donna Turner, Consulate Health Care CNA at Envoy of Staunton, had years ago when she decided to forgo a job she enjoyed for a job she was passionate about.

Donna’s first stint as a caregiver came out of necessity when her grandmother became sick, forcing her to learn how to bathe, dress, and feed the woman who had once done the same for her. At the time, Donna was serving as a baker at a care center in her area, but had never given much thought to a role as a caregiver. Donna points to the time she spent caring for her grandmother as the primary reason she decided to embark on a new journey. “Caring for others brought me peace,” she said.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Donna as she continues to work selflessly, sharing her passion for providing service with her heart and hands.
