Casey Wylie: Resident Care at Its Finest
Casey Wylie, a Ridgewood Manor licensed social worker, was just doing what she does every day when she received the amazing news of her newest award. But before we share with you what she won, let us share with you how she won it. You see, with a smile on her face and a skip in her step, Casey reviews and develops care plans daily, provides consultation to her coworkers, and makes a trip to visit each of her residents. During these visits, Casey makes a point to not only ask how they are feeling but often pauses to listen to a grandiose story from days past. Casey’s routine visits aren’t required, they’re just one of the many reasons Casey was selected from more than 18,000 social workers in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana for the Essential Piece Award, her second consecutive year winning the lauded prize.
The Essential Piece Award, a yearly honor presented by Great Lakes Caring Home Health, is given to a social worker who exhibits leadership qualities, demonstrates excellence in their daily routine, and goes above and beyond to ensure exemplary levels of resident care. Casey, in all of her humility, was surprised to be honored again, but she may have been the only one at Ridgewood Manor who was surprised. Residents and fellow caregivers alike describe her as a “truly happy person with a positive attitude and tremendous work ethic,” and we couldn’t be more proud of her.
With a big smile and a bigger heart, Casey makes her presence felt daily at Ridgewood Manor. Her attention and concern for the needs of others has helped inspire their independence and improve their quality of life. Thank you for all that you do for others Casey, you are a true Ambassador of Care who exemplifies our Core Values and is a role model for others each and every day.
