Consulate Health Care Names Chris Bryson as Chief Executive Officer

Bryson is joined by Todd Mehaffey as Chief Operating Officer

MAITLAND, FL (September 30, 2016) Consulate Health Care, a leading national provider of post-acute healthcare services, announced the promotion of Chris Bryson to Chief Executive Officer.

Bryson formerly served as Chief Operating Officer under the leadership of Bill Mathies, CEO. Mathies and Bryson joined Consulate in the fall of 2015 with the primary goal of repositioning Consulate within the industry and its local communities. As part of the day-one plan which included operational restructuring, enhancement of the leadership team and rationalization of the portfolio, was the development of a succession plan. Both believe that the accomplishment of these repositioning efforts will allow the company to successfully navigate the changing healthcare landscape and achieve its business objectives in the future.

With key leadership and operational initiatives now in place, the transition of Bryson to CEO was planned and timed to allow him to complete the business planning process for 2017 and name his successor prior to the start of the new year. As such, Consulate Health Care has also appointed Todd Mehaffey as Chief Operating Officer. Mehaffey served successfully as the Florida Division President for the company, and the internal selection ensures a smooth transition and operational continuity.

Mathies will remain involved with Consulate as Executive Chairman to guide the leadership transition, provide strategic counsel to Bryson, and be available to investors and business partners as needed.

With over 40 years of combined experience in the post-acute care industry, Bryson and Mehaffey provide an enumerable wealth of skills and successes that will continue the repositioning of Consulate as a national provider of care across their network of community- based centers.

According to Mathies “Chris has been in key leadership positions in post-acute companies for a couple of decades. His experience, combined with his body of work at Consulate, provides a well-matched set of skills for the future needs of the company. He is not only intimately aware of our strengths and weaknesses as a healthcare company, but he has established a very strong relationship with our management team which contributes to my confidence that Consulate will continue to strengthen and grow under his leadership.”
