Consulate Health Care employees are continually striving toward enhanced wellness. In our efforts, we’d like to share with you the same tips and information that we are sharing with our employees. This week, we’re focused on yoga.
Yoga has been around for thousands of years for a good reason. While it seems like new exercise fads go in and out of style each year, yoga has stood the test of time. Whether you are new to yoga or if you are an experienced yogi, we want to highlight some of the many wellness benefits of a routine yoga practice.
Did you know that yoga:
- Perfects your posture
- Improves sleep
- Reduces stress levels
- Builds muscle and bone strength
- Helps you focus and find balance

The best way to find out if you like yoga is to go to a class. Simply do an internet search for yoga studios or health clubs offering yoga near you. Make sure you select a class designed for beginners. Many yoga studios will let you try the first class for free and have equipment on site that you can either borrow or rent. That way, you don’t have to invest in a mat or any other items right away.
We hope that you give yoga a try. It’s an exercise that you can continue doing for a lifetime, and has endless benefits for the mind and body.
