A lot has changed since 1987, but one thing that remains the same is the dedication shown by Consulate Health Care employees. For nearly 30 years, Connie Haslinger has been the embodiment of Consulate Health Care’s Core Values – Compassion, Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Passion. When you hear what residents and co-workers share about Connie, it’s no wonder she’s being honored as Parkview Care Center’s 2015 Employee of the Year.
Connie officially joined the team at Parkview Care Center in Fremont, Ohio on October 30th, 1987 and serves as a hybrid MDS Coordinator and LPN. And while maintaining the ability to perform the tasks for two different roles is impressive, what’s more impressive is Connie’s willingness to share her skills with other care centers in need of support such as Parkview’s sister facility, Addison Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center in Maumee, Ohio.
One of Connie’s colleagues, Renee, has worked with Connie for 23 years and says, “She has it all.” Her compassion for Consulate, kindheartedness towards residents, and ability to be an all-around team player makes Connie the ideal caregiver. After over two decades of working beside Connie, Renee can sum her up in three words: “everyone’s best friend.” Connie comes into work every day with a “bubbly and positive personality, always giving residents a warm smile from ear-to-ear,” Renee went on. Her energy and enthusiasm pair well with her diligence. If you go to her with a problem, she listens to you intently. When Connie takes on a challenge, you can bet that she’ll work with you to identify the best outcome for everyone, and with efficiency. This reputation has led other employees to go to Connie when they need a minute of help to find a resolution – they know “her minute is now, not later.”
Nominated by Parkview’s Executive Director, Brian Holzheimer, the only person surprised by Connie’s award was Connie herself. Shocked and humbled by the sweeping support from her care center, Connie was honored to receive the award. Connie’s compassion for the challenges of others, honesty and integrity in finding solutions to any problem, respect for her residents and fellow staff, and overwhelming passion for living life are the proof points that have led us to humbly present Connie with Employee of the Year. She is a walking example of our Core Values and the impact that living them has on others. After almost 30 years with Consulate, we can say with great confidence, Connie Haslinger is the total package – she has it all.
