SEVEN FLORIDA CONSULATE HEALTH CARE CENTERS RATED BEST IN STATE BY U.S. NEWS

Maitland, Florida (November 3, 2017) – According to U.S. News, seven Consulate Health Care centers are amongst the 121 total in Florida that are said to provide the absolute best care in the state.

Congratulations to the following Florida Consulate Health Care centers:

U.S. News & World Report evaluated over 15,000 care centers across the country to come up with the list of homes designated as the best. They use data from Nursing Home Compare, a program run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that sets and enforces quality standards for nursing homes. CMS assigns an overall rating of one to five stars to nursing homes after evaluating their health inspection, staffing and quality outcomes.

U.S. News, however, decided to modify the CMS ratings approach. Effective for 2016-2017, care centers were rated “poor” to “top performing” after evaluating monthly data averages over a year, with a heavy emphasis on strong performance in medical quality measures.

To receive a high U.S. News rating, care centers also have to provide significantly more than the required minimum of rehabilitation therapy to residents who have been classified as having received high levels of rehabilitative services. You can view the full methodology here.

“We strive to provide 5 star services while maintaining a home-like environment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” shared Joshua Englin, executive director of Consulate Health Care of Sarasota. Achieving this recognition demonstrates Consulate’s commitment to accountability and working towards safe clinical outcomes, all while providing the best possible care to those they serve on a daily basis.
