Olathe, Kansas (June 29, 2015) – At an event hosted by Royal Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation center on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, the Lieutenant Governor of Kansas, Jeff Colyer, spoke in celebration of the center’s renovations and improvements ranging from both physical and aesthetic enhancements, to new clinical services and technology.
These improvements also allowed for the creation of hundreds of new job opportunities for the town of Olathe and the surrounding community. The new job openings have benefited the Royal Terrace team to attract compassionate caregivers who treat patients and residents like family, not because it’s their job, but because it’s their calling. Their employees are united in Consulate Health Care’s mission of “Providing Service with Our Hearts and Hands”.
Amongst the newest improvements, patients can enjoy the fully renovated skilled-rehabilitation unit, which includes an oversized therapy gym for patients and residents to complete an array of extensive physical, occupational and speech therapy services in partnership with Genesis Rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation resident rooms are now equipped with flat-screen TVs and newly purchased furniture, contributing to a luxurious atmosphere to bring in the comforts of home. Additionally, a WiFi network has been installed throughout the entire care center and is accessible by all residents and guests. The physical grounds have been newly landscaped with beautiful gardening and a fully enclosed terrace for resident enjoyment.
“We congratulate Royal Terrace on the grand re-opening of this facility that will provide needed services and create jobs that will benefit the local community,” Governor Sam Brownback said.
Royal Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation, a 147-bed skilled-nursing care center located in Olathe, KS, has also earned an overall five-star CMS rating (as of January 2015). Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help families and caregivers compare post-acute providers more easily by using a quality rating system. This system rates providers on an overall scale of one to five stars, as well as taking into consideration separate ratings for health inspections, staffing and quality measures. Care centers with five stars provide the highest levels of care and service. Royal Terrace most recently was awarded an AHCA 2015 Bronze Award as well for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through better care.
“I want to congratulate Royal Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the work that has been done to raise the level of care and services being provided here. In our agency’s most recent inspection of this facility, Royal Terrace achieved a zero deficiency report, someone that only 2 percent of the facilities we inspect in Kansas manage to achieve. Royal Terrace can be very proud of this accomplishment,” said Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Secretary Kari Bruffett.
“It is with great pride that we celebrate this accomplishment,” said Royal Terrace Executive Director Ryan Leiker. “Such a rating is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of each of our team members. Our ultimate goal continues to be to provide the highest quality skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to the community of Olathe. Our vision for the future is to continue this commitment to excellence and serve as a valued resource to all those entrusted to our care.”
