CONSULATE HEALTH CARE CENTERS RECEIVE 5-STAR CMS RATINGS

West Palm Beach, Florida (February 05, 2016) – Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help families and caregivers compare post-acute providers more easily. CMS uses an overall scale of one to five stars, and a separate rating for each of the following three sources of information: Health Inspection ratings that contain information from the last three years of onsite inspections, including standard surveys and complaint surveys; Staffing which is rated on the number of hours of care on average provided every day, by nursing staff, to each resident and their level of need; and lastly, the Quality Measures (QMs) rating which evaluates information on eleven different physical and clinical measures for patients and residents. Care centers with five stars are considered to provide care and service that is above average quality.

For Consulate Health Care, a national leading provider of senior healthcare services and the largest post-acute provider in Florida, achieving a CMS five-star rating shows a commitment to providing the best possible care to those they serve on a daily basis. Consulate’s employees strive every day to make a positive difference in the lives of those entrusted to their care. This national recognition proves their dedication to caring for patients and residents like family, while living out their mission of “Providing Service with Our Hearts and Hands”.

With two Consulate Health Care centers recently receiving a CMS five-star rating in the West Palm Beach community, both Wood Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center and Consulate Health Care of West Palm Beach are extremely proud of their care center and staff.

This continuous focus on working towards positive safe clinical outcomes and staff engagement has helped both care centers achieve five-star status. “In an industry faced with numerous challenges, it takes a group of ordinary people doing extraordinary things on a daily basis to attain, sustain, and maintain positive outcomes.  The Wood Lake team has attained many accomplishments over the past two years, including a deficiency-free survey and a five-star rating. Each team member has exhibited the Consulate’s Core Values – all the key elements that differentiate us from all others. Working together not only as a team but as a family has made us bigger, stronger, and more self-sufficient to care for our patients and each other as we continue to provide excellent service with our hearts and hands,” noted Wood Lake’s director of nursing, Emma Ramnarace.

When asked about this achievement, executive director of CHC of West Palm Beach, Marcia Couitt commented, “This five-star rating is indicative of the focus our caregivers have on patient care and doing the right thing. It is exceptional to know that our line staff has the same understanding of set standards within our care center, that surveyors entered our building and witnessed quality care. This understanding is just part of our facility culture.”
