An advocate for her colleagues at Clay County Care Center, Victoria Delisle is the Human Resources Coordinator for the care center. Working in healthcare for almost 11 years, she has been part of the Consulate family for two and a half years and has already made a significant impact.
Throughout her journey in long-term care, she has assumed various positions such as in admissions, finance, payroll, receptionist, housekeeping, and account management. This provided Victoria with a greater knowledge of the overall center and departments, which helped her understand their challenges and advocate for them and their needs. Her primary motivator to come to work each day is her coworkers.
As the human resources coordinator, she understands the importance of the work she does. “I am an employee advocate, which also helps the residents,” she explained. “When you take good care of the staff at the care centers, they are able to take good care of our residents.” Her every decision throughout the day, Victoria puts her coworkers and residents as the top priorities. She aims to maintain an environment that fosters cooperation and compassion at the center.
Victoria knows the impact the staff has on the residents every day assures that their mark in the staff is even more significant. They know the team is there to share all the happy moments and make the challenging ones better. “Our residents know they have a family to take care of them here,” she said. “This is our residents’ home. We are here for whatever they need and love to see them happy and healthy.”
Working closely with the staff at the care center, Victoria knows how challenging but rewarding the job is. She shared some advice with younger professionals: “If you are willing to come in and treat everyone with dignity and respect, you are going to love working at Clay County Care Center.”
Thank you, Victoria, for all your hard work and dedication to our staff. Your commitment to our core values greatly impacts our team and families’ lives each and every day.
