Army Veteran Receives Certificate of Appreciation

The idea of freedom is well understood in the United States and Americans owe the privilege of living in a free country to the men and women who bravely serve and protect it. At Consulate Health Care, we have the privilege of employing and serving many of these people as staff or residents in our care centers. We listen to their stories to gain a new understanding of the sacrifices they’ve made, and we can’t help but be filled with gratitude for their service.

Amy Lickfold, Valley View’s admissions director, was filled with respect and gratitude when she recently took it upon herself to recognize a co-worker who had made a particularly big impression on her.

Robert Johnson, regional director of admissions, was awarded a certificate of appreciation on behalf of Consulate Health Care and John Lickfold, the District Commander of the local VFW. Robert, who was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, joined the Army as a combat medic in 1982. He served in the 601st Medical Company at Ft. Clayton, Panama, the 34th Medical battalion at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and C Company, 2nd Armored Division, Garlstedt, Germany where he managed the troop medical clinic. Robert finished his tour of service as a U.S Army Recruiter at the Columbia (Cartel) recruiting station in Columbia, Maryland. Among Robert’s list of distinguished accomplishments are:

  • 1 Arcom – Army Commendation Medal
  • 5 Army Achievement Medals
  • 1 Army Good Conduct Medal
  • Army Service Medal
  • 1 National Defense Service Medal
  • EFMB – Expert Field Medic Badge (coveted)
  • Expert Marksmanship Badge
  • National Registry EMT certification
  • Licensed Practical Nurse course
  • Intensive Care certification
  • BNCOC – Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (leadership)
  • ANCOC – Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course (leadership)

Respect, one of Consulate’s five core values, is defined as “a high regard and esteem for others.” Military veterans like Robert have rightly earned the respect and recognition of our staff as we proudly work alongside him and other veterans throughout the Consulate Health Care family. His story reminds us that our staff exhibits Consulate’s core values by carrying out their mission every single day, and we’re glad to have Robert as a part of our Consulate family.
