It is said that without a solid foundation, you’ll have trouble creating anything of value. At Consulate Health Care, we firmly believe that our Core Values provide that solid foundation. Compassion, Honesty, Respect, Integrity and Passion are the building blocks of success we instill in all of our caregivers. The Core Values play an important part in all of our care centers and it culminates in the highly coveted Annual ACE Award. The Annual ACE Award became tradition in 2004 and is an opportunity for the company to recognize those who embrace the Core Values, not just in our care centers, but in their daily lives. In order to qualify for the ACE Award, an employee must have received a minimum of one Core Value nomination in each of the five values, they must be nominated by their supervisor with a detailed letter of how the employee goes above and beyond, and they must also demonstrate the Core Values in the local community through volunteer work or other community outreach.

For the second year in a row, the Consulate Health Care of Safety Harbor staff hosted a luncheon to honor three of their amazing caregivers whose behaviors have exhibited all five of the Core Values, while tending to residents, helping coworkers and lending themselves to the outside community, among other notable actions to qualify as ACE Award finalist. Executive Director Maryann Domingo led the event and delivered a heartwarming speech to recognize activities director Jim Womble, Frances Wing, CNA, and Erin Ring, CNA for their contributions to the care center and the community and noted their outstanding character. She described each one of them as having a truly caring heart and shared how proud she is to be their supervisor. Staff members also took time to express their admiration for the three award winners.

Jim was praised for his passion and dependability. Residents enjoy his company tremendously and greatly appreciate all he does to host fun events like the Resident Prom and the haunted house the residents help build each Halloween. When Jim dresses up as one of his many characters, it is always a treat and he never fails to bring a smile to everyone’s face. To add to the fun, he’s been known to dress-up as anything from a hula dancer, to a double cheeseburger, a cabbage, to a baby, not to mention Cupid, Father Time, and many more – what a character!

Frances, another ACE Award finalist, was recognized for the passion she shows to those who are in need – especially her Safety Harbor residents.  It doesn’t matter where her assignment is, her passion for serving others is present.  One resident has grown so close to Frances, she told Frances she wishes she were assigned to her on a daily basis. She found Frances to be gentle, kind, and totally filled with a desire to provide kind, compassionate care for all of her residents.

Erin displays compassion in everything she does, whether it is lovingly looking after her residents as if they were her own family, or lending a helping hand to her fellow workers. When she was just a child, Erin learned a lot about caring for others from her father, who is a nurse. Starting at an early age, Erin always admired his father’s gentle nature and compassion for others. Working at night typically doesn’t get the accolades from the residents that other shifts may receive, as they are sleeping for the most part, but Erin has found that when she does make a connection, it means that much more.

Consulate Health Care’s Core Values provide a solid foundation for our organization, but it is our incredible caregivers that build upon those guiding principles and really bring them to life. Jim, Frances and Erin received a wealth of congratulations from their coworkers and have no intentions of resting on their laurels. Each day they continue to show up with a positive attitude and emanating the values that earned them their awards. We appreciate the hard work of all our caregivers and are honored to recognize Jim, Frances, Erin and all Core Value recipients who go above and beyond to make Consulate Health Care a special place every day.
