Luisa Cortese joined the team at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center at the beginning of the year. As the Human Resources Coordinator, she truly enjoys working alongside the staff. With over 18 years of HR experience, this is Luisa’s first position at a long-term facility; still, she has been adapting to the new environment, regulations, and especially staff remarkably well. Every day, she comes to work and shows compassion towards those around her and integrity in her work.
Although she says there are many aspects of working at the care center that she enjoys, her coworkers are her favorite. The people at Grand Oaks Health and Rehab are very special. They work together to help the residents and each other. “They make me laugh and smile every day, and they teach me a lot. It’s incredible,” explained Luisa.
From all Consulate Health Care’s core values, Luisa believes compassion is the most powerful. In a long-term care setting, it is inherently necessary to be able to show compassion towards others. Luisa explains she always tries to put herself in other people’s shoes and understands that everything she does can affect others around her.
Luisa is extremely valued by her coworkers. Lisa Brewer, Director of Clinical Services at the care center, tells us that “Luisa not only makes sure the staff is taken care of, but she also takes time to chat with our residents and make sure they are cared for as well.” She also says Luisa worked very hard to put together Nurse and CNA Week celebrations to show her appreciation for the staff and all healthcare heroes at Grand Oaks Health and Rehab.
Her daily tasks include making sure staff’s needs are being addressed. Since she arrived at the care center, she has been committed to advocating for her staff and ensuring they are taken care of while providing residents and families with quality services. All team members at the care center are thankful to have someone as talented as Luisa on their team.
On behalf of our Consulate family, we would like to thank Luisa for working hard to bring new talents to Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center and being an advocate for the staff and residents. It is a pleasure to have you as part of our team!
