Satonya Field’s mother introduced her to this recipe years ago and Satonya has transformed it to suit her own palate. This is a great breakfast pleaser or brunch dish.

Ingredients:

2 deep-dish pie shells

8 ounces of ground sausage

1 medium green bell pepper, diced

1 medium red bell pepper, diced

1 medium onion, diced

5 eggs

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

2 cups shredded sharp cheese

1 tsp. red pepper flake mix (optional)

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. of salt

1 tsp. smoked paprika

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook ground sausage, onion, and bell pepper together in a pan until the sausage is done.

Drain off excess grease.

Add one half of the cooked mixture to each pie shell.

In a bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream and seasoning together and set aside.

Add 1 cup of cheese to each pie shell.

Put one half of the egg mixture into each pie shell.

Sprinkle smoked paprika on top of each quiche.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

Let cool and enjoy!
